Material Testing and Inspection
![]() Chemical Analysis
Hycrome’s chemical processes and their controls have been audited and conform to the requirements of NADCAP AC7108 Chemical processing. The role of the Chemistry Laboratory is to:
Metallurgy
The facilities within Hycrome enable metallurgical investigations of material microstructures to ensure that these meet customer requirements. Analysis of engine run components is undertaken to assess the suitability for repair. Additionally routine adhesion testing of painting systems are undertaken as well as other general investigations. Metallurgy services include:

Non Destructive Testing
Non Destructive Testing [NDT] is used to verify the integrity of all Aerospace and Gas Turbine engine parts, confirming to the requirements of NADCAP ACT108/1. Both newly machined and overhaul parts are cleaned at Hycrome’s Pre-Treatment Facility prior to inspection using several methods dependant on the substrate material. NDT can detect inherent defects within the material along with fatigue cracks, corrosion, pitting & defects caused by machining abuse. This range of approved services includes:
Co-Ordinating Measuring Machine (CMM)
With an inspection plane of 1.2 m x 2.2m, a variety of simple and complex products can be measured to the tightest of tolerances. The CMM integrates with a variety of software products to carry out inspection processes and reverse engineering. ![]() |
