Health & Safety

Hycrome, a Score (Europe) Ltd company, operate to the same management system.  This Integrated Management System (IMS) can be accessed through PC's and plasma screens throughout Hycrome.

Safety

This procedure has been developed to ensure that, as far as is practically possible, all company personnel are trained to the highest level of competence in activities affecting health and safety.

 
Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of company senior management, team leaders and deputy team leaders to ensure that their personnel are part of an on-going training process.

 
Procedure

To ensure training is optimised, competent external sources shall be utilised as and when required. Personnel working at site locations shall undertake training activities as deemed necessary by the client. Senior management, team leaders and deputy team leaders shall be responsible for reviewing the training requirements of their personnel and ensuring that the relevant actions are implemented in order that the training may take place. Similarly, they shall ensure any refresher training needs are met.

 
Activities identified as a requirement of training shall be included on departmental training plans. All training plans shall be authorised by senior management.
 
Activities

Health and safety training activities may include, but not be limited to, the following :-
  • NVQ H & S unit of competence;
  • Manual Handling;
  • Permit to work;
  • Transportation of hazardous goods
  • Fire safety;
  • Mobile Work Platforms;
  • Forklifts;
  • Abrasive wheels;
  • Waste control;
  • Display screen equipment awareness;
  • Offshore survival;
  • Hazardous goods awareness;
  • LSA safety awareness;
  • Use of overhead cranes;
  • Pressure testing;
  • Banksman/Slinger;
  • First aid;
Records

Records appertaining to health and safety training shall be routed to the personnel department for inclusion within individual employee training files.

 
Review

Senior management shall review the effectiveness of training to ensure the continuing application of the safety system requirements.

 
Environmental Policy Statement

Score's environmental policy is to show our commitment to continual improvement in preventing pollution. The policy also ensures that we adhere to all applicable legislation and regulations that impose statutory duties on us and company members as a minimum. It is also our intention to at least meet any other appropriate legislative requirements. To enable these statutory duties to be carried out, we ensure that responsibility for environmental matters is properly assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels of our Organisation and that all practical steps are taken to safeguard the environment in the premises and the processes under our control.

 
1. It is the intention of our organisation to ensure that:-
  • our operational activities are monitored with a view to minimilisation of environmental impact and prevention of pollution;
     
  • that waste is managed by a duty of care through which the ultimate disposition of everything produced is traceable;
     
  • the use of energy and raw materials per unit of turnover is monitored and controlled;
     
  • recycling and reclamation processes for waste are controlled;
     
  • to raise understanding on environmental matters by educating the various groups, authorities and individuals who interact with the organisation both internally and externally;
     
  • goals and objectives are set and pursued with the aim of reducing the impact of our significant environmental aspects.
2. It is the duty of all the organisation's personnel to:-
  • current procedures and work instructions are implemented and improvements to the policy aims noted above are recommended;
     
  • they recognise the principal person charged with making a given disposal decision is the Work's Director at the appropriate location;
     
  • they recognise the principal form for discussion of waste management is The Health and Safety Committee.
